IEID Launches Africa's Largest Green Technology Park

IEID has officially broken ground on what will become Africa's largest dedicated green technology park - a 200-hectare development designed to host more than fifty clean energy companies and create 5,000 direct jobs by 2027.

The park brings together solar assembly, battery manufacturing, EV component production and recycling industries in a single circular ecosystem. Tenants share renewable power, water treatment and logistics infrastructure from day one, dramatically reducing both setup costs and environmental footprint.

"This is not an industrial park with green branding - it is an ecosystem engineered for the energy transition," said the project's lead director at the groundbreaking ceremony. "Every utility, every building standard and every tenant criterion serves that goal."

The Academy is opening parallel training tracks in solar technology, battery systems and industrial maintenance to guarantee a pipeline of qualified local workers. Cohort applications open next quarter, with 1,000 fully funded places reserved for residents of surrounding districts.

Phase one - forty hectares of serviced land and three multi-tenant factory shells - is scheduled for handover to anchor tenants within eighteen months. Interest from international clean-tech manufacturers has already exceeded available phase-one capacity three times over.
