Rwanda Signs $200M Industrial Park Deal with African Development Bank

A $200 million financing agreement between IEID and the African Development Bank will accelerate infrastructure delivery across three flagship industrial parks, marking one of the largest single investments in the region's manufacturing infrastructure to date.
The facility funds roads, utilities, factory shells and digital infrastructure - the enabling layer that transforms serviced land into production-ready capacity. Importantly, financing is structured around sustainability performance, with tranches linked to ESG milestones.
"Infrastructure is the bottleneck that keeps African manufacturing undercapitalised," noted IEID's Head of Investor Relations. "This partnership removes it for three parks at once, and the AfDB's diligence sets a template for future partners."
Delivery begins immediately on bulk earthworks and the first utility corridor, with tenant handovers expected to begin within twenty-four months. The agreement also includes technical assistance for local supplier development, ensuring regional businesses capture a meaningful share of procurement.
“Creating places where Industry, Innovation, Communities and Sustainability thrive together.”
